On April 15th Deputy Reed was called for service for suspicious activity. On the way to the call Officer Reed observed a male identified as Robert Padgett, walking down the road. During the course of the investigation, Deputy Reed learned that Padgett is a registered sex offender out of Oregon. Padgett had not reported his current address, his place of employment, the vehicle he was driving or his cell phone number and was not compliant with the Missouri Registry. Deputy Reed took Padgett into custody without incident. Upon arrival at the Dallas County Dention Center, a small baggy with white substance was found on his person. A field test was conducted and it tested positive for methamphetamine. Deputy Reed Submitted charges to the Dallas County Prosecutor for four counts of Failure to Register and Possesses Controlled Substance.
The outcome serves a reminder that sex offenders attempting to hide in Dallas County, Missouri will not be tolerated. Let’s all stay vigilent and report any suspicious activity.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
