Buffalo Man Arrested For Sexual Misconduct In Walmart
On Wednesday, 9/13/2023, Sgt. Carriger arrived at the local Walmart to conduct an investigation into a separate crime. While there, employees of the convenience store informed Sgt. Carriger of a white male subject that had been caught, on more than one occasion, masturbating to a pair of children’s shoes in the store by different employees. Sgt. Carriger located the subject, identified as Shannon Benedict, and brought him to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office for questioning. Shannon admitted to masturbating in the store on more than one occasion and in other business parking lots in other counties.
Shannon was arrested and subsequently charged by the Dallas County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with three (3) counts of Sexual Misconduct in the 1st Degree.
Based on information uncovered during questioning, an Internet Crimes Against Children Investigator was requested to assist and the investigation is ongoing. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
